Planning Your Event
Half of the battle gearing up towards a special event, is planning. Proper planning will allow you the time to get everything together and completed with less "frazzle". Here are our recommendations for planning the makeup element of your event. 1. Determine Your Style Determining your style can really help you get the exact look you want. Pull photos, magazine clippings and web images that allow you to SEE what you want your event to look like. Try your best to coordinate all the elements of your gown with the correct style of makeup that you want, but don't worry. That's why we're there to help you. 2. Pick the Date for Your Trial We encourage all of our clients to allow about 2 weeks between their trial and their event. This gives you the confidence you need to know that your face will be flawless on your special day and will take the burden of anxiety away. Schedule your trial and try your best to have all tanning out of the way before the actual wedding. Your artist will be selecting pallets based on the shade of your skin at your trial. 3. Understand Why Trials are SO Necessary It's common for people not to want to add a trial makeup run to their schedule prior to a big event, with everything else that needs to be taken care of, however, we advise all brides to run trials of both hair and makeup. Meeting your artist before a wedding will give you the confidence you will need as the busyness of the day arrives. Our artists want to understand what will make your day smooth and effortless and there's only one way to ensure this. You may have a look that you love in an ad (on someone else's face), but there are many elements to getting that look and all factors must be taken into consideration. Are you looking at a picture of someone who has deeper features or smoother features than you do? Does silver eye makeup compliment dark eyes, the way it may compliment lighter eyes? Do you have a more yellow tone than the peach tone of the girl in the photo that inspires you? All of these questions are important not only to you, but to us. We want you to be so happy on your day and not surprised by a poorly thought out plan.
